This mission statement guides our work here in San Marcos and beyond as we seek to serve through these Ministries.

Family Ministry

During this unprecedented time of a global pandemic, St. Mark's is committed to loving our neighbors as ourselves by keeping each other safe.  We are currently not gathering for in-person worship or for Sunday Morning formation times.  We have an offering of online resources for families and children in the links below.  We encourage and invite you to take a look as a family - as you have time and are able.  You are always welcome to reach out with questions on our St. Mark's Facebook page or you can call into the church office and leave a message.

College Ministry

St. Mark's supports the students at Texas State University and all students in higher education in the greater San Marcos area.

During the school year, college students are invited to meet weekly at St. Mark's or in parishioners homes for a good meal, Christ-centered discussion, and a time of worship.

While you are away from home, consider St. Mark's your home. If you are a parent or a student looking for more information about our ministry with the students of Texas State University, please email the Rev. Little Lion Diaper Pantry

Learn about The Little Lion Diaper Pantry that's managed by the Full Circle parent support group.
Honduras

Members of St. Mark's have been traveling to Honduras to provide assistance since the devastation of Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Read the latest report on the Manos de Dios Ministry here.
School Fuel

School Fuel provides nutritional weekend meals for school children of San Marcos CISD who have a high risk of little to no food at home. Volunteers meet during the school year to pack and distribute these bags.
 
Habitat For Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to putting the dream of home-ownership within reach of working families. St. Mark's provides financial support and volunteer labor during building projects.
Meals On Wheels

The San Marcos chapter of this national program delivers nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks for local seniors that cannot leave home.
Redwood Community Center

Centro Esperanza provides the Redwood community with health & wellness programs, adult & youth education programs, and basic needs referrals. St. Mark's has supported this community effort for many years.
Hays-Caldwell Women's Center

A social services organization supporting women and children by giving them a safe place away from abuse. St. Mark’s has had a long-standing relationship with HCWC.

School of Wisdom

 


St. Mark's School of Wisdom is open to the curious and the serious – to all seekers of Christian wisdom and spirituality.

Our assumption is that everyone needs to find their own way, in their own way.  Each course and spiritual practice is part of a transformational journey, a journey we are all on whether we are conscious of it or not.
The purpose of the School is to open our hearts and awaken our minds toward the growth of the soul.  We explore our unique individual paths on common spiritual ground with others to:

- Encounter the Divine
- Question the ways we think and what we believe
- Re-imagine our tradition
- Co-create our world
 

All are welcome to join us in learning and practicing the spiritual path that Christianity has to offer. 

Monday Evening:  Contemplative Prayer at 5:30pm & Courses from 6:00 to 8:00pm
Wisdom on Wednesdays   1:30 to 3:00pm

ALL SCHOOL OF WISDOM COURSES WILL BE HELD ONLINE.
THERE WILL BE NO MEETINGS ON CAMPUS.  YOU WILL BE SENT SIGN-IN INSTRUCTIONS AFTER YOU REGISTER.

Environmental Stewardship

St. Mark's is committed to the responsible environmental stewardship of the resources God has given to all of us.  As Christians, it brings us joy and grace when we recognize the sacredness of creation and when we live our lives in a manner that respects and cares for the natural, environmental, cultural and human resources we have been given.

Episcopal Church Women

   

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is an organization that includes all women of the Episcopal Church.  The ECW is organized on the National, Provincial, Diocesan, and local level.

At St. Mark’s, ECW women actively gather together throughout the year for fellowship, faith building, and service. The fellowship activities include a Fall gathering, a Christmas party, and a Spring salad supper.

Our Chili Cookoff in October is our major fundraiser. This includes a bake sale, silent auction, live music, and children’s activities. The money we raise is donated to numerous charitable organizations throughout Hays County and surrounding area as an extension of the outreach mission of St. Mark’s.
